Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in Sacred Scripture and centered on the Eucharist, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School embraces the values of Education, Faith, and Citizenship.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School has begun a nationwide search to fill a newly established Director of Development position. The Lake Michigan Catholic School Fund has committed to funding the position for its first three years, according to an agreement signed by LMCSF President John Proos and Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein.
Our Lady of the Lake is among Michigan’s top-performing Catholic schools and continues to invest heavily in its educators, programming and technology in support of the tenets of education, faith and citizenship.
“With the new position, the school aims to secure long-term, sustainable support that keeps quality Catholic education accessible for years to come and deepens our impact within the community,” shares Proos. “It is a significant investment, but a natural and necessary next step for the school’s advancement. The Fund exists to ensure the school remains on solid ground, that teachers and staff continue to have the resources they need to provide the highest quality academics, immersion in the Catholic faith, and meaningful opportunities for students. Establishing this position will help the school accomplish that.”
The Director of Development will create and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, secure donor support, organize special events, and acquire grant funding that supports the school’s long-term financial vitality. The position description and requirements are available here. “We have wonderful existing donor support,” explains Proos. “Our vision is to build on that foundation in consistent, thoughtful ways.”
"Grounded in faith, Our Lady of the Lake’s seven pillars – governance, Catholic culture, academics, finances, enrollment management, development, and infrastructure – combine to support our mission and vision,” shares Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein. “Our new Director of Development will serve as an important conduit between each of these areas and the community we serve.”
The position will be filled and evaluated by Fr. Fleckenstein in consultation with the LMCSF Board of Trustees. Interested candidates can submit a cover letter, resume and three to five references to Fr. John D. Fleckenstein, Canonical Pastor, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, 220 Church Street, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085 or via email to [email protected].
