Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in Sacred Scripture and centered on the Eucharist, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School embraces the values of Education, Faith, and Citizenship.
In a culture of rampant change, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School remains steadfast in its dedication to Catholic education, faith formation and citizenship.
“Deepening our faith is core to the Laker experience,” shares Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein. “Our students are learning and developing their talents alongside faith and moral values that will guide them throughout their lifetime.”
Uniquely positioned to provide what students truly need, an Our Lady of the Lake education offers children in preschool through 12th grade a solid foundation in Catholic faith and values during important formative years. Studies consistently show that Catholic school graduates are more likely to go to college, vote, contribute to charitable causes, and get involved in social advocacy. They’re also more likely to pray and attend church regularly.
“Parents want their child’s experiences at school to mirror what they’re being taught at home, including religious beliefs and moral choices,” says Fr. Fleckenstein.
Enrollment is limited and priority consideration is given to applications received by August 1. Our Lady of the Lake’s traditional faith formation practices include weekly Mass and Reconciliation, Sacrament preparation, and daily prayer and devotions, giving students the opportunity to practice their faith and participate in worship preparation. In addition, full-year theology classes are taught at all grade levels, and teachers intentionally integrate Catholic identity and perspective into all content-area lessons.
“Each day, we are intentional in modeling values that allow students to explore the world while remaining grounded in their relationship with Jesus Christ,” explains Fr. Fleckenstein. Students learn to put their faith into action every day in classrooms, at lunch and at play, as well as via required service projects and retreats. “Respect and service to others are ever-present in our classrooms. Students are taught to practice kindness, compassion, teamwork and personal responsibility,” he adds.
