Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in Sacred Scripture and centered on the Eucharist, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School embraces the values of Education, Faith, and Citizenship.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School will kick off National Catholic Schools Week at St. Joseph Catholic Church’s downtown campus with a School Family Mass on Sun. Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. Families interested in learning more about the school’s focus on education, faith and citizenship are invited.
In addition, parents will share their families’ experiences as Lakers at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Watervliet; SS. John & Bernard Catholic Church, Benton Harbor; and Holy Maternity of Mary and Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic churches in Dowagiac. For information in Spanish, families are encouraged to visit SS. John & Bernard Catholic Church in Benton Harbor at 12 p.m.
Theweek’s events for Our Lady of the Lake students include service projects, guest speakers, fun activities and field trips. It also begins admissions season; Our Lady of the Lake has limited availability in preK-12th grade and will be accepting enrollment applications for the 2023-24 school year beginning Sun. Jan. 29.
“This year’s theme of faith, excellence and service reflects key elements of a Catholic education and embodies our tenets of education, faith and citizenship. There is a new focus each day,” shares Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein. “Sunday, we honor our parishes. Monday, our community and vocations. We’ll celebrate our nation; faculty, staff and volunteers; students; and families as the week goes on. We have much to be grateful for.”
