"Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in Sacred Scripture and centered on the Eucharist, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School embraces the values of Education, Faith and Citizenship.”
My mother, Irene, was the first person to notice that I could write well and the first to encourage my interest in English grammar. Here I am at Lake Michigan Catholic High School, Blessed to be in my 14th year of teaching English at Catholic high schools. In those years I have engaged all grade levels of students and taught the wide range of literature, modes of writing, and communication skills.
In my personal life, I have been blessed as well. I have four adult sons, all of whom are happy, healthy, and prosperous fine young men. My husband, Bob, is a semi-retired lawyer with clients in the Chicago area.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Journalism at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. Years later I completed the Teacher Certification program at Northern Illinois University. I am a Journalist at heart with more than 30 years of experience writing news and news features. I continue to freelance for Tribune Company.
When I am not working in my classroom or at my desk at home, you are likely to find me in my garden, riding my bike, lifting weights, or practicing Yoga.
I am overflowing with excitement to begin the 2019/2020 school year with the Laker Community of parents and professionals.
